On Saturday 23rd June I attended a rally at the Lewsey Community Centre in Luton addressed by the MDC President Morgan Tsvangirai. What greeted me and many others were chaotic and shambolic scenes.
The Community Centre was not suited at all for an event of this magnitude. It certainly did not allude to the dignity and grace necessary to welcome a President. The hall itself was extremely small and every aspect of health and safety regulations were violated.

There were far too many people including women with children and babies cramped in a very small and airless room. Many peeved off at the venue, decided not to stay.

The delegation was over an hour late and some speakers prior to the Presidents presentation were enraptured by their own self-righteousness hugging the microphone with their rambling prolixity's . Slogans were repeatedly used to calm the frustrated and noisy crowd. Journalists leaving the scene were raising their eyebrows and shaking their heads.

Although the President delivered a rousing speech of unity and purpose many in the crowd left disillusioned by the lack of substance.

If these dysfunctional organisational scenes were a bench mark for a future MDC government then one has to feel a tinge of trepidation as to what hope there is for a new Zimbabwe.
