Wrinkled and weakened
By the passage of time
Rest is confined
To the permanent sleep
Inevitable as it shall come
This broken body of mine
Needs more rest

All the labouring from
This weary body of mine
Shall come to nothing
The skies are dry for the umpteen time

So many kids for me to feed
But this broken body of mine
Last went for maternity labour
Four decades ago

This old body of mine
Is in seething pain
But l need not rest
Lest the family perishes
